The way the modern course economy works is simple, and it's a trap. You build your content on someone else's platform, you collect your students in someone else's database, and you pay monthly rent for the privilege of doing the work yourself. The day you stop paying, your students lose access. Your courses go dark. The relationships you spent years building disappear behind a paywall you no longer own.
The platforms know this, and they price accordingly. The fees climb every year. The "essential" features get moved to higher tiers. The contracts get longer. Your dependence deepens. By the time you realize you've built a business on rented land, the cost of leaving is higher than the cost of staying, so you stay.
We don't think that's how it should work. So we built something different.
